The Gimp's Movie Review

I hope everyone had a sweet weekend! The leg is being very troublesome. I was not able to do any much needed training this weekend. I tried taking the bike down the block Saturday morning while packing it up for the ride and I could not handle it. I decided to continue nursing it with a couple of days off. This morning I went to teach a SPIN class and it was barking at me the whole time. I kept the resistance to a bare minimum. It hurts along the calf but the targeted pin point pain is at the bottom of the foot and it shoots up to the calf. I do not have a good feeling about this one. It has been a long while since any real injury has come about that caused a major sit out. I have an appointmet with Dr. McDreamy later this morning.

The Gimp @ the movies with ice pack and Ace bandage

"The Dark Knight" 3.75 stars out of 4 (always room for improvement with anything)
What can I say except the hype this movie is getting is well deserved. I felt from the first second I was strapped into a ride and it did not stop till the credits rolled. Heath Ledger was amazing, and I don't know if his untimely death added to the creepy factor but he had the Joker character nailed with the gestures and quirky movements.

"
Mama Mia" 3 stars out of 4
I love the stage version so I thought it would be hard to please me. I really enjoyed it though! I think what I enjoyed most was watching my sisters face, who is not into musicals. Her face would cringe when they would break into song. LOL! Meryl Streep reminded me of what a strong actress she truly is during the most intense "The Winner Takes It All".

"Wanted" 2.5 stars out of 4
A Little over the top but fun. Some scenes had me saying.....umm yea right whatever. It did include a great cast, and I am a sucker for James McAvoy's brilliant blue eyes since "The Last King of Scotland". You may want to wait till it is a rental or dollar cinema then check it out. It had this curve bullet thing that had me rolling(see below). Jess, you can skip the video since I am sure I did a fine job of acting out the scene for you. LOL!

Random Thought of The Day:

While watching "The Dark Knight" if you want to get three rows of people turn around and give you a dirty look make sure to scream out, "Oh my God, is that Anthony Michael Hall?!?"

My love for 80's movies is undying.

Awwwhhhh Viv that totally stinks :-( I'm sorry you're not feeling any better. But hey, at least we can be injured together :P We can both sit on the sidelines and laugh at people and critique their horrendous outfits LOL

Oh no! Take it easy on your leg...don't want to make it worse. (of course you know that!)

I'm so jealous of all your movie watching!

I love your reviews! Dan went to see Dark Knight at the IMAX and he said that it was awesome.

Sorry about the injury, I hope that McDreamy can help you so you can get back into fightin' shape.

One day, I will take your spin class. I am working up to it...I promise. :D

My wife can't make it through the chorus of Super Trooper without rolling her eyes while I smile and gently tap along to the music. If you don't like ABBA, you're uncool.

Hope your leg gets better real soon. I hope your Dr. McDreamy helps out.
I totally agree with your Wanted review. It was a good action flick but not very believable.

Down with injuries! I'm on strike from injuries- we can do that, right? Don't give in until your demands are met!!

That really sucks that your leg is still bothering you. Hope the Doc can give you some insight, and make it all better.

I agree with your ratings of Dark Knight and Wanted. It sounds like Mama Mia is worth it, so I'll have to check it out- thanks!

So sorry to hear about your leg still bugging you. Hopefully you get some answers from McDreamy. I liked the Dark Knight...also really liked Wanted...and I really want to see Mamma Mia too!

Thanks for the movie reviews :-)

Also, do what Dr. McDreamy tells you to do. So many athletes go to the doctor and then NEVER do the prescribed therapy (like resting a few days). You'll be as good as new in no time!

I agree with your review of The Dark Knight. It rocked and Ledger's hype was well-deserved. I am puzzled, however, that it got a PG-13 rating. I thought the violence was R.

I giggle when I think of your "curve bullet"!

Also, your shoes there in the theater? Rock. Very cute. Made the injury look good.

I *heart* that line from Pulp Fiction! I laughed out loud when they said it.

Hope the leg gets to feelin' better.

Now about that comment on my blog about visions of boobies in your head? LOL

Hope the leg feels better soon!

I'm with your sister. I don't like musicals much either. Drive me batty.

And speaking of batty, I can't wait to see the Dark Knight. Thanks for the reviews!

Good luck with the Doc today. Hopefully it's something that will respond quickly and not that nagging crap I seem to always get.

Definitely post pictures of the Hot Doc.

You know I'm in your boat for The Dark Knight. I think wifey would agree with you on Mamma Mia (she saw it with her lady friends).
